Account information: name, email address, and WhatsApp phone number when you register.
Voice messages: audio files sent through WhatsApp for transcription and AI processing.
Usage data: interaction logs, emotion detection results, and summary records — used solely to provide and improve the service.
We do not collect payment card numbers directly (handled by Razorpay, PCI-DSS compliant).
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Transcribe and summarise voice messages
- Detect emotional tone to surface wellbeing insights
- Generate smart reply suggestions
- Send reminders via WhatsApp
- Provide customer support
- Improve our AI models (anonymised, aggregated only)
3. Data Sharing
We
never sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- OpenAI — for AI transcription and summarisation (data processed per OpenAI's data processing agreement)
- WhatsApp/Meta — as the messaging delivery channel
- Razorpay — for payment processing
- Legal authorities — only when required by Indian law
4. Data Retention
Voice messages are retained for 30 days and then permanently deleted. Transcripts and summaries are retained for 12 months or until you delete your account. You may request earlier deletion at any time.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and all data
- Withdraw consent for AI processing (note: this will disable core features)

6. Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel only. We conduct periodic security reviews.
7. Children's Privacy
Apnokiwaaz is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you via WhatsApp or email when significant changes are made. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
